Dexter Kelly is carving out his lane as one of R&B’s most promising new voices. Born in Washington D.C. on June 10, 1998, and raised in Los Angeles after his family moved in 2002, the recording artist, songwriter, and actor blends smooth vocals with heartfelt storytelling that connects across regions.
Before stepping into the spotlight as an artist, Kelly played football at the University of Oregon. That foundation opened doors on set, where he worked on the hit series All American as both a stunt double and on-screen player. He also appeared in American Sports Story, booked national commercials, and will be featured in the upcoming film LA Undercover 2.
Music remains the heartbeat of his career. His 2022 single “Get It” introduced a style built on catchy hooks and intimate themes. In 2025 he returned with “For Me,” a late-night record built for summer playlists, carried by hypnotic melodies and the line fans keep quoting: “Body on 10 all summer.”

Although Los Angeles is home base, Kelly’s life and travel through Texas, Oregon, the Midwest, Miami, and New York give him a wide lens that shows up in both his music and on-camera work. Through the Krown Dreamz imprint, he is building a platform that bridges music, film, and culture. With more releases and screen roles on the way, Dexter Kelly is proving he is an artist built for longevity, not just a moment.
